Then why not try one of our Equine-related team-based activity days?

Formulated from our wealth of expertise and experience in the equine world, and coordinated by our very own Chief Instructor and BSJA Affiliated Show Jumper, Melissa Gibbs, you will spend your time around these wonderful creatures, learning from them and with them.  You can either leave the format entirely to us or provide some input of your own, depending on what you want most from the session.

The sessions are delivered from Mayfield and all core activities are equine-related. All safety equipment will be provided and there is absolutely no need to know anything about horses.  All we require is some enthusiasm and a desire to have fun!

The sessions are predominantly hands on and team oriented.  It is not possible to give a complete list here, but some of the activities regularly included are:

  •  Introduction to the horse, essential equipment and tacking up
  •  Mounting and dismounting
  •  Riding lessons
  •  Feeding time
  •  Free schooling & lunging
  •  Join up – controlling a horse using only body language
  •  The art of vaulting & team vaulting competition
  •  Obstacle course
  •  Mucking out

The day usually begins with a welcome and safety briefing over a nice cup of tea or coffee.  You will then be split into teams and the activities will begin.  Light refreshments can be provided, depending on your requirements on the day.

In order to maximise individual involvement, we recommend a maximum of 10 participants per session (there is no minimum).  We also recommend you wear loose clothing, preferably tracksuit bottoms and an appropriate top.  Also, please bear in mind, we can’t promise your clothes will remain sparklingly clean!

We are very excited about being able to offer these activity days and we have invested a great deal of time and effort to ensure their individuality.  In addition, we have enjoyed some very good feedback in the past and you can read the comments here.

So, I guess the rest is over to you.  We do not pretend to be the largest riding establishment in the world, but both we and our existing clients think we’ve got something very special at Mayfield – and we’d like to share some of that with you through our Corporate Activity days.
