| As a fully approved riding establishment, we are authorised to provide training and examinations for the following qualifications accredited by the British Horse Society: These are recognised qualifications and can be taken by people of all ages. A certificate from the BHS is awarded on completion and they make an excellent choice for anyone with a genuine interest in the equine world. They also form a solid foundation for those wishing to progress onto the BHS Stage examinations, later. We also provide general educational sessions from time to time, covering aspects such as tacking up correctly, loading, selecting the correct equipment and general horse care. In the past, the demand for these sessions has come primarily from the adults on the yard – specifically those, or parents of those, who are lucky enough to have their own horse or pony. However, they are open to everyone. Again, please contact us for more information, as these courses are subject to demand. All training at Mayfield is coordinated by our Chief Instructor, Melissa Gibbs (BHSAI), who is fully qualified with the BHS and has over 15 years experience in the Equine world. Melissa is also a keen Show Jumper and is active in the British Show Jumping Association competition circuit. We look forward to hearing from you!
